This cookie was the unexpected greatness of the day. I was just expecting a sugar cookie with happy sprinkles, but this one way over performed. It was the frosting. Perfect.
We brunched at Paradise Bakery and set our resolutions. I have to give an ode to this little chain. They manage to keep their charm without seeming big business. And chain restaurants aren’t so bad. When you are on vacation and looking for a guarantee, that familiar sign and menu brings comfort. That’s the only reason I can ever think of for going to Denny’s.
As it is with Paradise. I love meeting people here. I can count on their steel cut oats and fresh strawberries. And because I’m giving myself healthy points with the oatmeal, I go for a hot cocoa and cookie.
And yes, the title of the post is from a rap song I listened to back in the day.
As for resolutions? I am aiming for balance. The fact that I could work nonstop at my new job and still not tackle to to do list, doesn’t mean that I should.

I’m playing post-holiday catch up and am so excited to see this little space!! Adorable photo.
Balance – such a good word. And you’re absolutely right… just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Happy new year.
I love Paradise Cafe! And would you believe I’ve never had the hot chocolate. That looks amazing! I might have to go get myself a cup today…
It’s pretty good… I love it best in the giant mug of course.
Amazing how uplifting a good cookie can be! Love that it’s loaded up with sprinkles, too.
Balance is a wonderful word to choose to guide you in the new year. Looking forward to reading about how you achieve that balance.
Thank you! Any advice you have on finding balance would be key! I just came home from work and started working again. Something tells me this isn’t good.
Aw Natalie! I am in love with your new blog!!!! I just sent the link to my mom, she loves it too. I loveee Paradise Bakery – that picture looks delish!
Aw, I love that I am going to have your mom and you as readers! We need to activate your blog back up, no?
You know, I think you’re right! I need to figure out what to write about since I don’t ever cook or do crafts anymore, haha. I’m feeling inspired by you!
It’s the same reason people eat burgers in Rome. Comfort. I like balance, and I would even add moderation. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Hope you’re still off to a great start on day 4.
